Mechanical Advantage is paramount when it comes to rescue. Animals in trees can be rescued by many techniques borrowed from Arborist but sometimes a good old fashioned Aerial Lift comes in handy.

Towards the end of 2015, a kitten was stranded 35 feet up a tree for 3 days. Usually SMART’s Aerial Life can’t be used because of location but on this day, a warm 80 degree clear sky afternoon, the tree the kitten was up just happened to be on a sidewalk with clear access from the street.

Nav and Mr. Fox prepped Tami for flight, and within minutes, the kitten was in Tami’s arms and on his way down.

Mechanical Advantage rules!
