Why does my Maine Coon Cat love tires?

I noticed this completely bizarre (for my cat) behavior today, after I brought my summer car tires into the house for storage for the winter. It’s like she is on drugs… like catnip (which doesn’t affect her at all, incidentally). I’ve only ever seen her do anything similar with plastic kitchen bags. With the bags, I assumed that she liked the crinkly sound and/or the texture, but since tires have no such texture or sound, I now have to assume that is is some chemical or scent that is in common to plastic and rubber.

Her fur isn’t really orange–my camera’s auto-white-balance adjustment couldn’t make up its mind, as you’ll see partway into the video.
